Research reactors have been operated in many Asian countries and managed over many years for the multipurpose use (e.g. neutron activation analysis, RI production, semiconductor manufacturing, reactor fuel, material irradiation, nuclear medicine, medical irradiation, neutron radiography, inorganic and organic physical property research, etc.). Some countries start new research reactor project based on their experience with the existing research reactors.
In this situation, therefore, it is important that the cooperation of mutual utilization should be planned for researchers in the point of information sharing, network construction and further technical improvement etc. between Asian countries. In addition, it also aims to contribute to the personnel training of researcher concerned with the research reactors of each Asian country, based on the experience of the research reactor of Japan.
